Your questions answered

About family photography & film.

What kind of photographer are you?

I am a documentary photographer. That means I don’t do any awkward posing. I am sure your other half will be happy about that too.

When it comes to newborns you won’t find babies posed in strange positions on blankets with me. I capture your life with your brand new baby just as is, long feeds, cuddles, a small outing, cries and just a lot of love. The true moments is what you want to remember about this time that can seem like a blur when it has passed.

Can we get a couple of traditional family portraits?

Of course, I do not mind using 1o min to take a couple of traditional portraits.

Can grandparents and pets be part of the shoot too?

I actually love multi-generational shoots and pets are of course part of your family!

What if my child doesn't behave?

There is no such thing as ‘doesn’t behave’ in my book. I want to capture family life, including all the emotions. It actually also helps that there is no posing and the children are free to play and be themselves.

Is our home okay for a photo or film shoot?

Definitely! It doesn’t matter if your house is small, messy or you’re doing building works. It is all part of your story.

I feel self-conscious about having my photos taken or being filmed.

I completely understand! The strange thing is I am camera shy as well. We will get to know each other a bit in a phone or skype call beforehand and when I come on the day of your shoot we will first get accustomed to each other before I pull out my camera. I am sure that you or any other shy family member will feel comfortble.

Where do your shoots take place?

To create my natural and relaxed style of photos I will photograph activities that you normally do as a family at home and/or outdoors. From pancake breakfasts as a family, a walk with your teenager in the forest, dancing to Disney music with your toddler, tickles with full-belly laughs, planting flowers in your garden to lots of splashes from your baby during bath time to putting all the children to bed. It is up to you what part of your life I will capture, but if you can’t choose then I could even do a very special full ‘day in a life’ session.

I am based in Bromley, London but can travel throughout the UK and beyond. However, if you are further than 15miles away I charge extra for travel costs.

When do your shoots take place?

I do shoots during the week and on the weekends. My weekend shoots are more popular, so please do be fast to arrange these. Just send me a message or give me a call and we will put a date in the diary.

Are there any perks for your clients?

I have a referral programme so when someone uses my services who was referred by you, then you can get a discount on your next shoot or a shop voucher. All the details are in my brochure I can send you.

Do you have insurance?

I am fully insured. I have public liability and personal indemnity insurance.

How long will I have to wait before I see my photos or film?

You will receive your photographs within 2 weeks. A 1-3 minute family film will take 4-6 weeks to send to you. For a 10-15 minute ‘Life Story’ film you will need to be a bit more patient, as there is a lot of editing involved. You will receive your ‘Life Story’ film in roughly 8-12 weeks time.

What products do you offer? And how do I order them?

I offer high-end glicee prints and there are also possibilities of ordering bespoke photo albums. You can always add these afterwards and upgrade your package. I am of course also at hand if you need some advice on what to do with your photos.
