Family Photographer in Peckham, South-East London

Honest, natural family photos that capture real life — no posing, no matching outfits, just your family as they truly are.

Every Family Deserves to Be Seen Exactly as They Are

The sticky fingers. The dance party in the kitchen. The way your little one still climbs into your lap when they’re tired, even though they’re “too big” now. These moments are happening every single day, and they pass so fast.

I don’t line you up or ask anyone to say cheese. I quietly photograph your family doing what you do, so that years from now you have photos that feel like home. And yes, you’ll be in them too.

Your kids won’t remember the day we took the photos. They’ll remember the hot chocolate, the silly songs and who won the race to the park. That’s the story I’m there to tell, and it’s yours, just as it is.

Peckham: Photos in the Places That Feel Like Yours

The most meaningful photos are taken where your family’s life already happens. In Peckham, that might be:

Peckham Rye Common and Park: open grass for running, woodland paths and the playground

Burgess Park: the lake, the adventure playground and lots of space for bikes and scooters

Rye Lane and Bellenden Road: a market wander, your local bakery, the walk to your favourite café

Nunhead and Telegraph Hill: quieter streets and parks with great views across London

Your home: the messy kitchen table at breakfast, the toys on the floor and the bedtime routine

We’ll pick the places together on our call. Often it’s somewhere so normal you’d never think of it, and that’s what makes it special.

Who this is for?

Families in Peckham, Nunhead, Camberwell and East Dulwich.
Parents who want photos that show who their children really are: the loud one, the shy one, the one who never sits still.
Families who don't enjoy being photographed. A documentary session is the easiest kind there is, because there's nothing to get right.
Anyone who's realised they barely appear in their own family photos.

This isn’t for you if:

You're after a studio-style shoot with matching outfits and everyone looking at the camera. That's a different kind of photography, and I'm happy to point you elsewhere.

Let’s Tell Your Story!

I absolutely loved having Saskia around and I’ve been lucky enough to book her more than once. Having these pictures that capture real life, beautiful, authentic and unfiltered, made me realise which other moments I wanted to remember forever. I invited Saskia to my father’s nursing home to capture him with his grandson, and I can honestly say that some of these photos bring tears to my eye every time I look at them. Saskia is incredibly easygoing and made us feel completely comfortable. It really shows in the photos. They capture real, intimate moments that I will cherish forever.

I'm Saskia Albers, Your Peckham Family Photographer

I’m a documentary photographer and filmmaker living in Bromley, and I often photograph families in Peckham and nearby Dulwich.

As a mum of two, I know family life is rarely calm. That’s exactly why I love photographing it.

I love the little things families stop noticing: the way a big sister helps her brother with his shoes, the bedtime ritual nobody else knows about, the inside jokes at the dinner table.

I’m not there to make your family look perfect. I’m there to show you how much love is already in your everyday life, so that one day your children can look back and see where they came from.

FAQs

Booking a photographer or filmmaker can bring up questions. Here are a few I’m often asked.

  • What if my child doesn’t “behave”?

There’s no such thing as “doesn’t behave” in my book! Trust me, I’ve seen it all (yes, my own kids have bitten, shouted, and thrown themselves on the floor). I capture real family life and that means all emotions are welcome. Tantrums, tears, grumpiness, they’re all part of normal family life and are beautiful in themselves, and can be great in revealing relationships and personalities.

Because my sessions are documentary, children aren’t being forced into poses or awkward setups, so they’re actually more relaxed and likely to enjoy themselves — and so are you as the parent, knowing you don’t have to make them do anything. Here’s why I never ask your kids to smile.

  • What if our home feels too small, too dark, or too untidy for photos?

Absolutely, I can still photograph there. Real homes are meant to be lived in. I don’t need large spaces or perfectly tidy rooms. I look for light, connection, and moments, not square footage.

Your home is an important part of your child’s story. It’s their safe space, the backdrop to their everyday memories, and the place where your routines and rituals unfold. Capturing it as it is now becomes part of what they’ll one day look back on and recognise as home.

  • Do you offer mini family photo sessions in South-East London?

Yes, once or twice a year, I run mini family photography sessions across South-East London, which are a great option if you’d like a shorter, more affordable session. I also offer Christmas mini sessions each December, which are perfect for capturing your family’s festive traditions honestly and naturally — no matching outfits required.

Spaces for both are limited and tend to go quickly. Signing up for my newsletter is the best way to hear about new dates first.

  • Where in Peckham can we have our family photos?

Anywhere that means something to you. Peckham Rye, Burgess Park, your street, your local café or your home all work beautifully. Many families start at home and finish with a walk to the park.

  • Can we change the date if we need to?

Yes. You can reschedule twice at no extra cost if someone’s unwell or the weather is awful. Please let me know as soon as you can. Once I’m on my way to you, the session can’t be cancelled.
